(2) Treat with silane coupling agent aqueous solution
This method is mostly used in industrial processing of glass fibers. The specific process is to first dissolve the alkoxysilane coupling agent in water and prepare it into a 0.5%-2.0% solution. For poorly soluble silanes, 0.1% non-ionic surfactant can be added to the water in advance to prepare an aqueous emulsion, and then AcOH is added to adjust the pH to 5.5. Then, the glass fiber is treated by spraying or dipping. After taking it out, it is cured at 110-120°C for 20-30 minutes to obtain the product. Since the stability of the aqueous silane coupling agent solution varies greatly, for example, a simple aqueous solution of alkylalkoxysilane can only be stable for a few hours, while an aqueous solution of ammoniacal silane can be stable for several weeks. Since the long-chain alkyl and aryl silane aqueous solution can only be stable for a few hours, the ammoniacal silicon aqueous solution can be stable for several weeks. Due to the low solubility parameters of long-chain alkyl and silyl silanes, this method cannot be used. When preparing the silane aqueous solution, it is not necessary to use deionized water, but water containing fluoride ions cannot be used.
(3) Use silane coupling agent-organic solvent to prepare solution treatment
When the substrate is treated with a silane coupling agent solution, the spray method is generally used. Before processing, you need to know the amount of silane and the water content of the filler. The coupling agent is first formulated into a 25% alcohol solution, and then the filler is placed in a high-speed mixer, and the silane coupling agent solution in a fine mist is pumped under stirring. The amount of silane coupling agent is about the weight of the filler. 0.2%-1.5%, the treatment can be finished after 20 minutes, and then it is dried by dynamic drying method. In addition to alcohols, ketones, esters and hydrocarbons can also be used as solvents and formulated to a concentration of 1%-5% (mass fraction). In order to hydrolyze or partially hydrolyze the silane coupling agent, it is necessary to add a small amount of water to the solvent, and even a small amount of HOAc can be added as a hydrolysis catalyst. After drying and curing for several minutes at 80-120℃, the product can be obtained. The spray method is used to treat the powder filler, and the silane coupling agent stock solution or its hydrolysate solution can also be used. When dealing with metal, glass and ceramics, it is advisable to use 0.5%-2.0% (mass fraction) concentration of silane coupling agent alcohol solution, and use methods such as dipping, spraying and brushing. According to the shape and performance of the substrate, It can be dried and cured immediately, or it can be kept at 80-180°C for 1-5 minutes to achieve drying and curing.
(4) Treat with hydrolysate of silane coupling agent
That is, the silane is first used as a surface treatment agent by controlling the hydrolysis to produce a hydrolyzate. This method can obtain better treatment effect than pure silane solution. It can be dried and solidified without further hydrolysis.
